From April 16 to 24, Jia Wenjian, president of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) and deputy secretary of the CPC BFSU committee, led a delegation on a visit to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. The delegation visited universities, including Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages, and Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan, "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Alisher Navoiy Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature, and the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek in Uzbekistan, as well as Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University and Bishkek State University in Kyrgyzstan.

During the visit, the delegation held in-depth discussions with local institutions on enhancing cooperation in language education, translator training, area studies, and cultural exchange programs. They also explored opportunities for joint research projects, curriculum development, and the cultivation of high-end translators specializing in Central Asian languages. Several memorandums of understanding and a cooperation agreement were signed, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration in faculty and student exchanges, joint research, and talent development.

In addition to academic exchanges, the delegation met with officials from the Consulate General of China in Almaty, the Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan, the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan, and the Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, as well as the Kyrgyzstan Ministry of Education and Science, and visited key enterprises such as the China-Uzbekistan joint venture Peng Sheng Industrial Park Development Company and the Kyrgyzstan National Railway Company involved in the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project.
This marked BFSU's first official visit to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The delegation reached broad consensus on further strengthening the official language teaching and professional talent cultivation of the Central Asian countries, conducting joint research in areas such as regional and country studies, education and teaching with renowned universities in the Central Asian countries, jointly cultivating high-end translation talents, and attracting Central Asian teachers and students to study in China. They also signed relevant cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding. The visit successfully deepened mutual friendship and trust, broadened areas of cooperation, and achieved fruitful results.
