From April 9 to 10, Jia Wenjian, president of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) and deputy secretary of the CPC BFSU committee, attended the QS China Summit 2025 held in Chengdu, Sichuan province.
Themed “Navigating New Pathways: Education and Innovation in China and Beyond”, the summit was co-hosted by QS Quacquarelli Symonds and Khalifa University. It brought together nearly 400 participants, including university presidents, leaders from various sectors, deans, faculty members, researchers and higher education professionals from China, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, India, the United Kingdom and other countries.

Jia spoke during the panel “Plotting Institutional Success through Partnerships”. He shared BFSU’s criteria for selecting international partners and elaborated on strategies the university has employed to boost its global influence and appeal. These include enhancing academic prestige, improving graduate employability and building a robust alumni network. He also shared his insights and reflections on the challenges and opportunities facing international strategic cooperation in education today.

During the summit, Jia and the BFSU delegation held in-depth discussions with representatives from QS Quacquarelli Symonds and other participating institutions, focusing on potential avenues for international collaboration.
