BFSU celebrates 83rd anniversary with alumni and faculty

Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) marked its 83rd anniversary on Sept 21 with a series of celebrations, including the highly anticipated alumni homecoming day.

Alumni from various schools and graduation years enthusiastically participated in this grand occasion, coming together to celebrate their alma mater’s rich legacy and achievements.

Key university leaders, including Wang Dinghua, secretary of the CPC BFSU committee; Zhao Gang, a member of the standing committee of the CPC BFSU committee and vice-president of the university; and Yang Xueyi, president of the BFSU General Alumni Association and former secretary of the CPC BFSU committee, attended the celebrations.

An exhibition featuring photography, calligraphy, paintings and monographs by BFSU alumni and faculty was held to mark the 10th anniversary of the Jing-Jin-Ji (Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei) coordinated development plan. The works presented the unique experiences, thoughts and emotions of the BFSU community, and underscored the university's role in fostering cultural integration and harmonious coexistence within the region.

The celebrations included a cultural performance, inviting representatives of previous “10 Star Singers” to delight the audience with classic hits and original works. The concert celebrated BFSU’s vibrant campus culture and reinforced emotional connections between the university and its alumni.

In a special moment for recent graduates, BFSU hosted photography sessions for the classes of 2020 and 2022, who returned to the campus to capture their graduation memories. Alumni traveled from across the globe to participate, taking pictures at iconic campus spots, preserving their BFSU experiences in cherished photographs.

Alumni also toured the BFSU Museum, World Language Museum and Alumni Home, where they reflected on their alma mater’s development, embraced linguistic diversity and reminisced about their time at the university.
