The Translators Association of China (TAC) recently announced the results of its awards for the year, recognizing brilliant contributions in the field of translation. Eleven faculty members from Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) were honored for their remarkable achievements, with one receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award in Translation, five earning the Senior Translators Award and five winning the Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Translators Award.
The recognition not only acknowledges the individual achievements of BFSU faculty members but also highlights the university's strong expertise and excellence in translation practice and research. Additionally, it underscores BFSU’s contributions to cultural exchanges between China and other countries, as well as its role in national development.
The Lifetime Achievement Award in Translation is the highest accolade given by the TAC to commend translators who have made outstanding, widespread and highly respected contributions to the field of translation and cross-cultural communication.
The Senior Translators Award is conferred upon experts who have achieved prominent results in such fields as foreign affairs and diplomacy, international communication, social sciences, literature and art, military affairs, science and technology, ethnic languages, translation theory and teaching and translation services.
The Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Translators Award honors young translators who demonstrate patriotism, cultural integration, exceptional translation skills and outstanding performance.
