BFSU students and teachers attend the 20th World Youth Festival in Sochi

Eight students from the School of Russian at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), accompanied by lecturers Zhao Mengxue and Li Chongyang, participated in the 20th World Youth Festival and the 4th "Sino-Russian Youth Friendship Journey" event in Sochi, Russia, from March 2 to 6.

The World Youth Festival, which brought together tens of thousands of young people from nearly 200 countries, aimed to provide a diverse platform for youths from different regions, cultures and fields to communicate. Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a video address at the opening ceremony, inspiring the younger generation to courageously pursue their dreams and foster friendship and mutual understanding among people. He also attended the closing ceremony to personally encourage the world's youth.

During the "Sino-Russian Youth Friendship Journey" event, students from the School of Russian at BFSU recited Pushkin's poem To the Sea and performed a rendition of Moscow Nights as representatives of Chinese students.

Throughout the World Youth Festival, BFSU students and teachers actively engaged in celebrity lectures, academic salons, youth parades, international trade fairs and various exchange activities, demonstrating outstanding language proficiency and a positive spirit.
