Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) celebrated its 82nd anniversary with a grand alumni homecoming event on Sept 16. Alumni from various graduating classes and schools gathered at their alma mater, joining hands to witness the glory of BFSU.

Among the distinguished attendees was Fu Ying, a graduate of BFSU's School of English and International Studies, vice-chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the 13th National People's Congress and former vice-minister of foreign affairs. She also served as China's ambassador to the Philippines, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Fu engaged in a warm exchange with Wang Dinghua, secretary of the CPC BFSU committee.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the launch of the Belt and Road Initiative. In commemoration of this milestone, an exhibition was held at the university library. It featured calligraphy works, paintings and monographs, showcased the experiences, thoughts and feelings of BFSUers in the new era, and highlighted the friendly exchanges and collaborations between China and foreign countries, especially those involved in the initiative.

The celebration events included martial arts performances, singing and dancing, poetry recitations and cross-talks. These activities were also available via livestreaming sessions which attracted thousands of online viewers. Alumni from all over the world left messages of goodwill, wishing their alma mater continued success.

Participants of the celebration also visited campus landmarks, the BFSU History Museum, the World Language Museum, and Alumni Home, where they relived the university’s history and reminisced about their campus lives.
