Shalkarbayev Askar, minister-counsellor at the embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in China, paid a visit to Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) on July 3.

Jia Wenjian, deputy secretary of the CPC BFSU committee and vice-president of the university, welcomed the minister-counsellor, also an alumnus of the university, and introduced a global strategy created by BFSU to set up foreign campuses around the world from 2020 to 2050, known as BFSU CREATE.
Jia also talked about the development of the Kazakh language program offered at the university and expressed sincere gratitude to the embassy for its longstanding support and assistance to BFSU.
Jia expressed his hope of further expanding cooperation and promoting exchanges in Kazakh language education and communication between the two countries' universities.
The minister-counsellor spoke highly of the teaching quality and talent cultivation of the School of Russian at BFSU. He reminisced about his own experiences when studying at BFSU years ago and commended the construction and fruitful achievements of the Kazakh language program and the Centre for Kazakhstan Studies at BFSU.
The embassy will continue to support exchanges and cooperation between BFSU and renowned universities and institutions in Kazakhstan and advance innovative language cooperation projects, said Askar.
