A team led by Ni Xiaopeng, president of the Chinese School Association in the United States (CSAUS), visited Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) on June 30 and was warmly received by Jia Wenjian, deputy secretary of the CPC BFSU committee and vice-president of the university.

Jia provided a brief overview of BFSU, highlighting the university's distinctive language programs and its commitment to growing into a world-class foreign studies university and nurturing well-rounded individuals with patriotism, a global mindset and professional skills.
He expressed the university's eagerness to establish connections with the CSAUS and engage in further exchanges and collaboration in talent cultivation and country and area studies.
Ni introduced the history and educational profile of the CSAUS, saying that the association's primary focus is promoting Chinese cultural awareness and history among the new generation of Chinese-Americans. Ni also presented a report on the Chinese language education industry in the US in 2022, which was compiled based on the association's research findings.
Gao Xiaodong, dean of BFSU's School of Continuing Education, made special mention of the school's external exchange efforts and BFSU’s achievements in cultivating international talents for national ministries, government agencies, and large-scale enterprises.
Gao outlined the new approaches of collaborative education among the university, government departments, local communities, and enterprises to foster internationally competitive professionals in the language field.
Li Weiqun from the BFSU Chinese Language Education Base provided an overview of the work carried out by the base since its designation as one of the 49 Chinese language education bases by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council in 2016.
Li reviewed the cooperative endeavors between the base and the CSAUS and expressed the hope of further promoting the recognition, inheritance, and dissemination of Chinese culture among the new generation of Chinese-Americans.
Jin Limin, director of the Office of Confucius Institutes at BFSU, presented the accomplishments of the office in fostering Chinese language talents.
The two sides discussed cooperation in areas such as faculty training, summer camps, academic forums and research lectures.
Subsequent to the discussion, members of the team toured various facilities at BFSU, including the World Language Museum, the library, and the sports hall.
