Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) held the Global Culture Festival and the 2023 Campus Open Day for Evaluation of Admissions on June 15.

Themed on the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative, the events presented the diverse cultural integration and internationalized characteristics of BFSU to diplomatic envoys to China, Chinese and foreign teachers and students, BFSU alumni, and more than 4,000 candidates and their parents who participated in the open day activities.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Wang Dinghua, secretary of the CPC BFSU committee, encouraged the youth to promote cultural exchanges, cultural integration, and people-to-people friendship to advance the establishment of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Chen Wei, deputy director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges at the Ministry of Education, said that cultural diversity is the source of human progress, and shared his hope that both Chinese and foreign students at BFSU will play the role of a bridge in the research and spread of fine cultures from different countries and regions.
Officials from embassies to China from EI Salvador, Madagascar, Myanmar, Serbia and Finland underscored the importance of intercultural exchanges and coexistence in the development of human civilization in their speeches at the opening ceremony, and praised BFSU for its contribution to language teaching and promoting global cultural exchanges.

An international carnival was arranged to highlight diverse cultural elements from around the world. Activities introducing BFSU and its colleges attracted crowds of students that aspire to enroll at the university.
