A team led by Richard Follett, deputy vice-chancellor of the University of Exeter, visited Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) on June 7.

Zhao Gang, a member of the standing committee of the CPC BFSU committee and vice-president of the university, welcomed the team and introduced the university’s engagement in disciplinary construction, talent cultivation and foreign exchanges and cooperation.
Zhao said that the School of Continuing Education at BFSU and the University of Exeter share a solid foundation for cooperation in diploma and pathway programs, adding that he hopes the two universities will expand cooperation in student exchanges, teacher training and short-term programs to facilitate cross-cultural communication between China and the United Kingdom.
Follett spoke highly of BFSU students that had been selected and sent to the University of Exeter, and praised BFSU’s efforts in promoting global communication and understanding as a language university.
The deputy vice-chancellor said he will support the establishment of a comprehensive partnership between the two universities to promote educational cooperation and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
