The Blue Book of Malaysia: Annual Report on Development of Malaysia (2022) was recently released online, followed by a symposium on the Malaysian situation.
The release ceremony was hosted by Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) and the Social Sciences Academic Press (SSAP), and undertaken by the Academy of Regional and Global Governance, the School of Asian Studies and the Centre for China-Malay Studies at BFSU, and the ASEAN Countries Research Center at Peking University.

Professor Zhao Gang, a member of the standing committee of the CPC BFSU committee and vice-president of the university, and Yang Qun, editor-in-chief of the SSAP, addressed the release ceremony.
Xu Ningning, executive president of the China-ASEAN Business Council and chairman of the RCEP Industry Cooperation Committee, Ngeow Chow Bing, director of the Institute of China Studies at the University of Malaya, and Xu Liping, a research fellow at the National Institute of International Strategy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, delivered keynote speeches. They talked about the current situation and future of China-Malaysia cooperation, the diplomatic layout and prospects of the new Malaysian government, as well as the Malaysian general election and the future trend of China-Malaysia ties.
Six professionals engaged in Malaysian research at home and abroad gave reports and shared their latest research results during the discussion session on the Malaysian situation and China-Malaysia relationship.
Professor Fan Ruolan, from the School of International Relations and the Institute for Southeast Asian Studies at Sun Yat-sen University, commented on the discussion. Professor Zhai Kun, vice-president of the Institute of Area Studies at Peking University, delivered the concluding remarks.
Organized by the School of Asian Studies and the Centre for China-Malay Studies at BFSU and the ASEAN Countries Research Center at Peking University, the Annual Report on Development of Malaysia (2022) was written by experts and scholars from well-known universities and research institutions at home and abroad. Focusing on the development and changes of Malaysia's internal and external situations, the blue book presents the latest development trends of the country's politics, economy, diplomacy, social culture and China-Malaysia relations in 2021 in an all-round, multi-perspective and three-dimensional manner.
