My China Story, a video work produced by Hendy Yuniarto, an Indonesian teacher at the School of Asian Studies of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), won the second prize in the “China’s Amazing Decade: My Story” contest, according to an award ceremony held on Jan 12 in Beijing. BFSU was among the winners of the organization award.
In his video, Hendy shared his stories with China, introduced the country’s achievements in poverty alleviation, infrastructure construction, e-commerce, transportation, education and tertiary industries.
Apart from teaching and researching at BFSU, Hendy has also visited various places in China, experiencing local customs and witnessing the country’s rapid social and economic development.
With a simple camera Hendy recorded Chinese people's efforts in poverty alleviation and showed the world a real, three-dimensional and comprehensive image of China.
The “China’s Amazing Decade: My Story” contest aimed to promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, and to showcase the country’s achievements from 2012 to 2022, a decade of rapid growth, as well as its prospects in the new era.
The contest was open to non-Chinese who had dealings with China over the past 10 years. Works in the three categories of articles, photos and videos were collected. Held between August and September, 2022, the event was jointly organized by China Daily and the Bank of China and undertaken by China Services Info.
