The national smart education platform went live on March 28, with 22 courses on UMOOCs offered by Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) included in the online platform.
UMOOCs (Unipus Massive Open Online Courses) is the official website providing open courses of the China MOOCs for Foreign Studies (CMFS); BFSU is its director-general. As one of the first course providers for the national smart education platform, UMOOCs has more than 170,000 registered users.

In response to the call of the Ministry of Education, UMOOCs has selected the first 59 foreign language courses from 14 universities, including eight language courses provided by BFSU. The courses cover multilingual learning, specific language skills, professional English courses, culture, as well as ideology and politics. The courses represent China’s high quality open online education in foreign languages. It sets a good example for mutual learning and course promotion among universities.
BFSU adheres to its philosophy of highlighting foreign language characteristics, jointly developing high-quality resources and promoting educational equity. The university has explored new ways for cultivating talents.
