A total of 147 universities and a range of disciplines have been selected as "double world-class" projects, according to a list released by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission on Feb 14. The listing encourages the universities to pursue world-class development based on their own characteristics, specialty disciplines and academic fields.

BFSU is among the universities targeted for world-class foreign language and literature discipline construction together with Shanghai International Studies University, Beijing Normal University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, Hunan Normal University and Yanbian University.

BFSU will stick to moral education, serve national strategies, cultivate talented faculties, strengthen the connection between scientific research and education, reinforce international cooperation and exchanges, optimize management evaluation and improve academic support to consolidate discipline construction.
