Five BFSU projects approved as NSSFC major projects

Five of Beijing Foreign Studies University’s projects obtained funding from the National Social Science Fund of China this year, according to a list released by the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences. 

Among them, four were approved as NSSFC major projects, ranking 21st among universities nationwide. “Compilation and research on multilingual textbook series for foreign language majors of higher education institutions: Understanding Contemporary Chinese Society” led by the university with Wang Dinghua, secretary of the CPC BFSU committee, as chief expert was approved as a major entrusted project.

Five BFSU projects are included in the National Social Science Fund of China’s list of major approved projects for 2021.

Earlier, 16 of the university’s projects were approved as 2021 annual projects by the NSSFC, five were approved by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 10 were approved as humanity and social science general research projects of the Ministry of Education, and five were approved as Beijing Municipal Social Science Fund projects. 

These projects cover such fields as linguistics, literature, journalism, communication, management and international research, reflecting the common development of multiple disciplines in BFSU.

The university has always encouraged its faculty and researchers to focus on academic frontiers and major practical issues, conduct research, bring remarkable achievements and play a leading role in relevant disciplines. 

In the future, BFSU will continue to closely respond to the calls of the times, shoulder its responsibilities to serve the cause of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government and strive to integrate scientific research into national development.
