An online exchange meeting with the theme “Xinjiang is a Wonderful Land” hosted by Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) and the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region was held on Nov 19.
BFSU foreign teachers and overseas students from nearly 30 countries and representatives of the university attended the meeting via video link.

Jia Wenjian, deputy secretary of the CPC BFSU committee and vice-president of the university, said Xinjiang is a wonderful land where stable development and harmony are guaranteed, economic improvement and living standards are advanced, freedom of religious belief is protected and cultural exchanges are boosted.
Jia noted that he believes this meeting will further deepen BFSU foreign staff and students’ understanding of Xinjiang. BFSU will support Xinjiang’s education as always in volunteer teacher assigning, talent training and scientific research, he said.
Zumrat Obul, a member of the standing committee of the CPC committee of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and head of Xinjiang United Front Work Department, said she welcomes teachers and students to visit the area.

BFSU teachers and students learned about the history, culture and ethnic customs of the old city of Kashgar, as well as the booming ice and snow tourism and the protection of religious freedom in Xinjiang.
Via video link, they also experienced the happy atmosphere in a multi-ethnic Xinjiang family, witnessed characteristic scenic spots to feel the profound regional culture, and listened to stories about local people's better life through receiving education.
