Introduction:
BFSU is home to many renowned research institutes, such as the National Research Centre for Foreign Language Education, the Foreign Language Research Institute, the Foreign Literature Research Institute, the Beijing Centre for Japanese Studies, the Institute for Higher Education, and the Research Centre for Overseas Sinology. In particular, BFSU is host to the only National Research Center for Foreign Language Teaching in China, along with two National Bases for Training Undergraduates of Less-commonly Used Language: one for European Languages and one for Asian and African Languages.
The Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP) affiliated with BFSU is one of the largest and most productive presses in China. Every year, it publishes approximately 5000 titles, including textbooks, dictionaries, monographs, and translated works.
The faculty of BFSU and the publishing house have undertaken 93 state-funded research projects and received 120 awards of various kinds. In addition, magazines and academic journals published by FLTRP, such as Foreign Language Teaching and Research, Foreign Literature, English Learning, French Learning and German Learning, are well-received by Teaching, teachers, and language learners.
