Three international communication platforms for foreign language disciplines — BFSU LingMind, HSS Xiv, and HSS AIECP — were unveiled by Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) on July 24 at the 2026 Global English Education China Assembly.

The launch represents a milestone deliverable under a major project of the Ministry of Education's philosophy and social sciences research initiative. Jia Wenjian, BFSU's president, serves as the chief convener of the overarching research program.

BFSU LingMind is a large language model purpose-built for foreign language and literature studies. Powered by next-generation AI, it integrates multilingual comprehension, intelligent text generation, and academic assistance to support teaching innovation, literary and linguistic research, and cross-cultural scholarly exchange.

HSS Xiv is a multilingual preprint platform dedicated to the rapid dissemination of humanities and social sciences research. Drawing on BFSU's multilingual expertise, publishing resources from the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, and the digital ecosystem of HSS Online, the platform champions open science and aims to deepen the integration of Chinese humanities research into global academic conversations.

HSS AIECP is an intelligent review and compliance platform covering the full publishing workflow in the humanities and social sciences. It supports nine major academic languages — including Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish, Arabic, German, Portuguese, and Japanese — providing technical safeguards for high-quality, sustainable academic publishing.

The coordinated rollout of these platforms signals BFSU's commitment to building a digitally empowered, multilingual education ecosystem and advancing the global dissemination of China's independent knowledge system in the humanities.

Looking ahead, BFSU plans to continue upgrading the platforms and expanding their academic services, using the foreign language model as an engine and the multilingual digital platforms as bridges to facilitate scholarly dialogue between China and the world.
