In 1995, Beijing hosted the UN Fourth World Conference on Women, a landmark event for gender equality worldwide. Three decades later, China again hosted a similar global gathering, the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women, to advance the cause of women's development.
Li Yingtao, a professor of International Relations at the School of International Relations and Diplomacy at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) as well as a participant in the UN Fourth World Conference on Women in 1995, shares her experience over the past 30 years.
