During the meeting, Jia shared the university’s achievements in language programs, academic development, international communication and graduate employment. He also gave updates on key initiatives such as the Global Language Service Platform and the China MOOCs for Foreign Studies.

BFSU has enjoyed a long-standing and productive relationship with universities in Singapore, Jia said. He expressed hope that, with the support of the embassy of Singapore in China, BFSU could further deepen its engagement with Singaporean universities and institutions across a wide range of areas, thereby contributing to youth exchanges and joint research between the two countries.

Ambassador Tan provided an overview of Singapore’s current educational development and international partnerships. He said that language learning is a vital bridge for cultural exchanges and plays an essential role in strengthening bilateral relations.

Tan praised BFSU for cultivating a large number of high-caliber professionals who are active in various sectors of China-Singapore relations and have contributed significantly to people-to-people connectivity. The Singaporean embassy, he said, looks forward to working closely with the university to implement faculty and student exchange programs and academic cooperation projects, which will help foster meaningful collaboration in education and culture.
