BFSU President Yang Dan leads delegation on official visit to Ethiopia, Madagascar, Tanzania

Yang Dan, president of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) and deputy secretary of the CPC BFSU committee, led a delegation to Ethiopia, Madagascar and Tanzania from Dec 1 to 10. 

During the visit, the delegation explored collaboration opportunities with Chinese enterprises, renowned African universities and international organizations, including the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) Ethiopia Construction Plc, Addis Ababa University (AAU), the African Union Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, the National Archives and Library of Ethiopia, the Education Division of the African Union, Ecole Normale Supérieure d'Antananarivo, the University of Antananarivo, the Madagascar Chinese Association, the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) and its Centre for Chinese Studies, the Confucius Institute at UDSM, StarTimes Tanzania, CCECC East Africa Limited, and China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd Tanzania Branch. 

The trip aimed to establish new channels of cooperation, create innovative models for talent cultivation, and expand internship and employment opportunities for BFSU students. 

Meetings were also held with the Mission of China to the African Union, the Chinese embassy in Ethiopia, the Chinese embassy in Madagascar and the Chinese embassy in Tanzania, during which exchanges with embassy staff members provided valuable insight. 

In addition, the delegation met with BFSU alumni and students in Ethiopia and Madagascar to gather suggestions and strengthen connections.

This official visit further reinforced the commitment of BFSU to international collaboration and educational exchanges.
