Established in 1995, International Sinology is the first domestic academic journal focusing on global Sinology and has been consistently published since China's reform and opening-up. Originally a collection of papers, it gained recognition as a periodical in 2014.

With the goal of introducing the history, accomplishments and the latest developments in global Sinology research to both domestic and international academic communities, International Sinology helps to broaden the horizons of traditional Chinese culture studies.

The journal has also promoted the study of foreign Sinology within the domestic academic sphere, and has been dedicated to fostering dialogs between domestic scholars and overseas Sinologists, facilitating a constructive interaction between Sinology and Guoxue - the study of traditional Chinese culture.

By providing a platform for collaboration and exchanges, International Sinology seeks to elevate the quality of Sinology research, both domestically and internationally.
