The International Business School of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) has earned the international accreditation granted by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), according to a recent announcement. 

The accreditation, valid for a five-year period, comes after a rigorous evaluation process conducted by the AACSB's Initial Accreditation Committee and Accreditation Council.

The journey to the AACSB’s accreditation began in August 2016 with a qualification audit. The school progressed through the application process and submitted its Initial Self-Evaluation Report in February 2020, following with the Final Self-Evaluation Report in November 2022. From April 16 to 19, AACSB expert reviewers conducted 11 in-depth interviews involving approximately 120 individuals at the school. 

Discussions were held between the AACSB expert team and BFSU's leadership, including Yang Dan, deputy secretary of the CPC BFSU committee and president of the university, as well as Zhao Gang, a member of the standing committee of the CPC BFSU committee and vice-president of the university. 

The comprehensive review highlighted the school's remarkable achievements. The expert team acknowledged BFSU International Business School as one of China's most esteemed business schools, and that it has been committed to elevating the quality of business education. 

The business school boasts an exceptional management team, dedicated faculty, and state-of-the-art teaching facilities, laying a solid foundation for scientific research, talent cultivation and community engagement. The school's educational philosophy emphasizes the fusion of theory and practice, combining team projects and coursework to effectively nurture students' global perspectives, international mindsets and cross-cultural communication skills.

AACSB accreditation is internationally renowned as the longest-standing and most recognized form of specialized accreditation that an institution and its business programs can earn. Up to now, only about six percent of global business schools have obtained this distinction.
