President of Western Sydney University visits BFSU

Barney Glover, president of Western Sydney University, led a team to visit Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) on March 20.

The team was received by Wang Dinghua, secretary of the CPC BFSU committee.

Wang extended a warm welcome and briefed the team on recent developments at BFSU.

BFSU has maintained a friendly cooperative relationship with Western Sydney University, and the two sides have conducted all-round and in-depth cooperation in fields such as county and area studies, cross-cultural research, international education, linguistics, international Chinese language education and business studies, as well as in communication between teachers and researchers, Wang said.

He also expressed his hopes that the two universities will develop more exchange programs for students, host joint activities and set up academic centers.

Glover introduced developments at Western Sydney University in recent years and said it has been his pleasure to once again visit BFSU.

The two universities have established a profound friendship in nearly 15 years of communication and cooperation, Glover added.

Western Sydney University is willing to further expand cooperation with BFSU in holding seminars, conducting research and sharing information and resources, said members of the team.

The two universities also discussed exchange projects for students and teachers, as well as joint training and graduate programs.
