BFSU attends 1st Malaysia-China debate competition

Zhao Gang, a member of the standing committee of the CPC committee of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) and vice-president of BFSU, attended the closing ceremony of the First Malaysia-China Intervarsity Chinese Debate Competition online on March 27.

BFSU won third place in the competition, and Zheng Chunyue, representing the university, was awarded the Best Debater.

Supported by the Chinese embassy in Malaysia and jointly organized by Confucius Institutes at SEGi University, the University of Malaya (UM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and University of Technology Sarawak (UTS), the competition sought to further strengthen exchanges among young people from both countries.

BFSU attended the competition as a Chinese partner university of the Confucius Institute at UM. After playing against UTS and UM in the preliminary competition, BFSU advanced to the finals, ranking third in scores.

In the finals on March 26, the university defeated UMS 3-2 and took the third place.
