Commemorative medals awarded to BFSU directors of Confucius Institutes

The Chinese International Education Foundation (CIEF) held an event called “Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future” on Sept 27 to celebrate Confucius Institute Day. 

Yang Wei, a CAS academician, and president of CIEF, Jia Wenjian, deputy secretary of the CPC committee of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) and vice-president of BFSU, Jin Limin, director of the Office of Confucius Institutes at BFSU, and over 100 representatives from Confucius Institutes attended the event.

CIEF awards commemorative medals to 75 directors of Confucius Institutes and classes on Sept 27.

CIEF awarded commemorative medals to 75 directors of Confucius Institutes and classes who have held their posts for over 10 years. 

Of them eight receivers were from Confucius Institutes founded by BFSU. They were Chang Shiru, former director of the Confucius Institute at Barcelona, Chen Zhong, director of the Confucius Institute at Palacky University, Federico Masini, director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Rome La Sapienza, Imre Hamar, director of the Confucius Institute at Eotvos Lorand University, Richard Trappl, director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna, Xu Yan, director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Gao Fangfang, director of the Confucius Institute in Munich, and Andrei Seleznev, director of the Confucius Institute at Moscow State Linguistic University.
