The Graduate School of Education (GSE) was officially established on May 25, 2018. Its key fields of teaching and research include Comparative Education, Higher Education, Educational Laws and Policies, Foreign Language Curriculum, Teaching & Learning and Vocational and Technical Education.

At present, it has 20 full-time faculty members with rich teaching and research backgrounds, including four professors and three associate professors. They all hold PhD degrees from leading international and Chinese universities such as the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto (OISE/UT) in Canada, Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg in Germany, Tsinghua University, Peking University and Renmin University of China. GSE has been continuously accumulating academic strength, promoting and nurturing the academic growth of graduate students, carrying out various research projects and international exchanges, and providing social services, while maintaining the fine tradition of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU).

GSE offers doctoral and Master’s degree programs in Education. The Master's program has four research directions: Comparative Education, Higher Education and Legal Policies, Foreign Language Curriculum, Teaching & Learning, and Cross-Cultural Education. The doctoral program covers four areas: Comparative Education, Higher Education, Foreign Language Curriculum, Teaching and Learning and Vocational and Technical Education. In particular, GSE offers most of its courses in English, with the aim of nurturing students’ bilingual (Chinese and English) academic competence over the course of their studies. GSE is also engaged in developing joint graduate programs with local and international universities.
